Being cooped up and hidden away from the world isn't helping me become a better Avatar. I saw a lot of the city today, and it's totally out of whack. I understand now why you need to stay. Republic City does need you. But it needs me, too.
Episode 1, Book 1
So this will be the last one of Korra till I get a real shoot, and probably the last one overall (there's one more I'd like to upload, but I'm waiting to hear back from the girl who took the shot). Luckily, Zuzu's arranging another Mako shoot (which I probably will not be present at, but here's hoping), so there will be some good pictures of him soon. I'm also making an Amon and Bolin, but no idea when we'll be able to get a shoot with all of us.
This one is just a nice close shot, shows off the details on the upper arm band and hair things better. Best of all, you can actually see some of the little marbling in the white trim from my batiking of the shirt. I really like the effect for this costume; despite the ability of the Book 2 shirt to take a sewn trim (unlike this jersey), I may batik it anyway. Still thinking.
I'd wanted to do a combination of her original design and this outfit, but I ran out of time. I made the butt-cape in the hotel room the night before the con, there was no way I had time to sculpt the horn to hold it seen on the original design. I also didn't have time to tool a brown upper arm band, so I just painted this one. It took forever, yes, but a lot shorter than the tooling would have. These are upgrades that I may still add, though, especially if our group decides to stick with Book 1 for Otakon next year. We'll see.
