Rarity Messenger Bag Details

A late Christmas present for a friend based on the saddlebags the ponies carry around in the show. It's duck canvas fully lined with ripstop nylon in white, with a parachute clip to hold the front flap closed. There are two large pockets, one in the front and one inside against the back. The front pocket closes with a zipper and has three mini pockets in that. The front purple trim causes it to sit funny, and won't exist on any future pony bags I make. Also, this being the prototype, I forgot to sew the buckles and straps on before I sewed it all together (as can be seen on a detail shot), but that's easily fixed next time. I made sure to sew it several times along each seam, so it's very solidly constructed.

The cutie mark is a canvas shape painted to stiffen it with the details satin stitched on. It's both sewn and glued to the nylon webbing strap, since I couldn't find a way to sew it on entirely with the buckle location, but don't trust glue (no matter how strong) on it's own.

This was a quick and fun project, and I think I'd like to sell them on Etsy. As well as make my own (Pinkie Pie for the win!).

I swear I do non-pony things, but my friends are all die-hard bronies and they fund and/or influence many of my decisions (and, as I said, this was a Christmas gift for one).
